![]() This latest panorama follows on from the previous one, of the battles at Carthage, which once more shows the stunning scale of battles. Historical inaccuracies aside, this is a wonderful demonstration of just how impressive the new engine is, and how large the battles are capable of being. The panorama doesn't make things seem quite that bad, although the Roman troops are unorganised and scattered. It's estimated that upto 20,000 Romans died in the massacre. Heavy storms apparently also didn't help, allowing the Germanic horde to swarm the Roman legions and crush them to a man. ![]() Three roman legions entered the forest and were ambushed, due to being spread out and not in formation. The image is a huge panorama of the ambush at Teutoberg Forest, recreated in the Total War: Rome II engine. Bonus points to the first person who can make it their background at full size. They've released a screenshot that's 30,000px Wide. The Total War series has never exactly aimed at small games, and they apparently want to make that point very clear.
